I have joined a team building a mod for Half Life2 which is called "The New Era", they are very professional and highly skilled, and i cant show anything i have done for them as i have a non disclosure agreement with them, but suffice to say that some of my existing models are going to make an appearance.
I have been doing some updating on my levels too, and have split the first part into 2 smaller levels as compiling was taking forever!, but i think they will work better as 2 smaller levels, that brings the level count up to 4 so far and i will probably split another of the big levels too. I have been musing over using the "Hub" flag in gtk for a level, if you are not familiar with this its is a setting for a level that keeps all the entities in the state you left them when loading another level, and you can go back to the hub level to continue the mission, it stems from Quake 2 especially the "Base" level, where you had to go back and forth to complete the mission.
That being said i have made some conversions of the quake 2 levels, the first 3 plus the "secret" Train level I am using my own textures but the levels will resemble the Q2 levels plus i will add some new sections and features.
I will update my textures page with better examples of what's to come, plus some screens of the updated levels too.
On a different note i have been to see a set for the new Harry Potter movie "The Deathly Hallows Part1" it is a seaside cottage thats being filmed near where i live in wales the photos are here and it is amazing! the roof is made from seashells and it looks like its been there for years, but its completely new! and will be demolished on Monday the 18th of May 2009 (shame).
I have added another tutorial to the tutorial page it is for adding a working camera into jedi academy, HERE
The site is coming along , i am uploading new screenshots of the levels as i am still reworking them, new models are being added and i hope to get them up for download soon.
I still keep adding to my textures and shaders so the files are a little bit late, when i finalize the first couple of levels i will pack up the textures and shaders for download separately as well as with the 1st .pk3.
I managed to get a "max map entities" which is a first but since i am using loads of models for the levels i am not surprised.
I had a little issue with some of my newer textures as there was a visible difference between the existing and new ones which didn't look good at all but i managed to figure it all out, i was saving the .jpegs in 72 ppi instead of 200ppi, i didn't think it would make a difference in the game but it did so another lesson learned.
I am totally reworking them (see below) and am still on the fence as whether the location of these levels should be THE Deathstar from Episode IV or a PRE Deathstar base situated within an asteroid or small moon, I remember that in Jedi Outcast there was a base inside an asteroid, so its not beyond reason.
